Cooperation with INSEKO brought the company a solution in the form of automation, clear records, and integration with existing systems.
ZKW, founded in 1938, is a global manufacturer of headlights and electronics for the automotive industry. It operates in 12 plants worldwide and employs more than 10,000 people. In Slovakia, it has a plant in Krušovce, where approximately 3,000 employees work.
The need for effective equipment and warehouse management
The cooperation between ZKW Slovakia and INSEKO began in 2018. We faced the challenge of introducing comprehensive records and a schedule of inspections and revisions of dedicated technical equipment (VTZ) into the HEXAGON EAM system, as well as optimizing warehouse management.
Digitalization of processes at ZKW Slovakia
The main categories of devices were defined as part of the implementation:
- VTZ devices (creation of separate log reports),
- Electrical appliances (creation of log reports),
- Fire equipment (fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire doors, dampers, etc.),
- Shelves.
A special screen with separate processes was created for each type of equipment, which also includes the technical parameters of each equipment. At the same time, a web application was developed for reporting revision requests from the field, which was connected to the HEXAGON EAM system. Of course, a custom screen was created for processing company requests.
Electrical appliance protocols, inspection reports for working machines and electrical installations, and machine protocols can be generated for devices, which greatly simplifies processes and ensures better control. The system also supports barcode printing for effective object labeling.

Accuracy and automation in warehouse management
Warehouse management, which primarily serves the depreciation of spare parts, has been improved through digitalized spare parts records. The system is connected to SAP and includes:
- Automatic inventory update on a daily basis.
- An application for issuing and returning parts with the ability to scan barcodes.
- Clear filtering and categorization of stock items.
The result is faster processes and more accurate recording of the issuance and replacement of spare parts.
System upgrade to a higher version
In 2023, an upgrade took place from version 11.4 to 12.0, which brought:
- Improved functionality and clarity.
- Increased security.
- More efficient integration with other business systems.
Benefits of digitalization
The implementation of the INSEKO solution into the ZKW Slovakia environment brought:
- Automated records and revisions of VTZ.
- Accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
- Simplifying and accelerating asset management processes.
- Greater efficiency and security of business operations.
The cooperation between ZKW Slovakia and INSEKO represents a successful demonstration of the digitalization of business processes. The implementation of the HEXAGON EAM system and its subsequent upgrade ensured better overview, greater efficiency and long-term sustainability of processes in the area of technical equipment management and warehouse management.
