Mobile app for logistics at SPUR

Zlín-based SPUR a.s. operates in the segment of plastics production and processing, recycling, production of flexible food packaging, operates two farms focused on hydroponic tomato cultivation, and last but not least, it is a company that employs workers with disabilities.

Objectives of the implementation of the native Android application KOLOSS

The pressure to prepare goods for dispatch, track outbound goods and load them quickly is increasing. The logistics processes have so far been handled through the warehouse module of the ERP system. The logistics staff logged into the system via a remote desktop. However, this connection was not always stable, and with the end of support for the Windows operating system and the move to Android devices, it was increasingly difficult to find a workable solution for RDP on Windows. In addition, to simplify logging in, logistics staff only logged in under their workgroup name. This resulted in a loss of traceability of who made a particular transaction.

Implementation process

The status of the work was reported on a weekly basis along with SPUR’s comments during the ongoing testing of the application.
